PVC Thunder Players

Information
We are a non-profit club and all the costs are covered by the families. As soon as a player has been named for a team, a non-refundable club fee must be paid at the start of the season and team fees shortly thereafter according to the fee schedule. Fundraising can be organized by groups of parents for their respective teams to help offset costs. Funds raised by teams go directly back to the respective families who participated in the fundraising event.

Parksville Volleyball Club Leadership may acquisition volunteer opportunities in the community that may result in corporate donations. These funds will be allocated towards building the Club infrastructure to support as many athletes interested in playing competitive volleyball.

At Parksville Volleyball Club we try our best to ensure participation fees are affordable. However, if a low-income situation makes it challenging to register for a player, there are some options to cover the cost. Here are some possible resources.

Note: These programs typically assess family income to determine eligibility for financial assistance, not just the income of the individual applying.

Frequently Asked Questions
Parksville Volleyball Club aligns with the policies and procedures outlined by Volleyball BC. Parents and players are encouraged to access resources on the Volleyball BC website for more information. A key document to have handy throughout the season is the Indoor Club Handbook as there is pertinent information such as offer letter processes and key timeframes for accepting offers to competitive teams. In addition, the age categories and levels of play are outlined on the Volleyball BC website as well that may be of interest. If you have reviewed this information and still have questions, please feel free to email the Club with any questions.
Can players from other communities outside of Parksville Try Out for the Competitive Volleyball Teams?
Yes, players from other communities can Try Out. The coaches are the ones who determine which players are offered positions to the teams.
Once Club Fees are paid, can these be refunded if the player or family rescind their position on the team?
No, because the Club Fees are used to purchase equipment required for the season. Families and Players are encouraged to take this into consideration when they make the decision to commit the player for the season prior to accepting the offer.
Parent volunteerism is strongly encouraged by Parskville Volleyball Club, but what if I only have time to complete a specific function?
There are formal leadership, coaching roles and team parent roles that are required to keep the Club operational. However, it has been great to have parents offer help in specific areas, such as grant writing, fundraising, team activity organization, club activity organization, etc. We encourage parents to reach out to the Club and offer assistance in any capacity.
