*Recruitment to this position is underway.

Shelley Birchard

Primary Director

As the Director of PVC, I have discovered that bringing youth volleyball to Parksville and the surrounding communities is an innate passion of mine as I firmly believe it is not simply the skills of volleyball that are learned on the court, but it is where character is developed as well for both coaches and players. Watching a team develop cohesion to achieve common goals is foundational to building a strong sense of community. In addition, the individual athlete journey is inspirational to watch as the player learns to take risks, accepts challenges for further growth and development that builds integrity, self-confidence and leadership. Opening the door of competitive Club volleyball to as many youth as possible in our community and surrounding areas is key to promoting healthy pro-social activities to youth in our community. I welcome others in the PVC community to contribute their time and energy to continue to build an organization that we can all be proud of.
